How to get Praxis: Not a core crystal pull. Praxis is awakened from Praxis's Core Crystal, a guaranteed reward for completing her Blade Quest 'Crystal Clear' (during which she is fought as the enemy Piratical Praxis / Criminal Praxis). Use the crystal on any Driver to get her with no RNG. She and Theory are the only non-DLC Blades with more than one Blade Quest.

How the quest unlocks
No quest giver (listed as 'None') and no affinity-chart node - it triggers automatically when you walk down Obra Street in Torigoth once ALL of the following are true: Chapter 5 has started, you hold 10 or more Core Crystals in inventory, you have bought the 'Core Crystal Hunters' information from an Informant shop in the Empire of Mor Ardain, and Morag is in the party (Xeno Series Wiki lists Nia, Tora and Morag in the party).

  • Merc Group needed - two Merc Missions ('False Rumor' and 'Ambush') are part of the quest

Walkthrough

  1. Walk down Obra Street in Torigoth with all prerequisites met - Piratical Praxis (Lv 33, Water) and Plunderous Theory ambush the party; defeat them (the fight ends when one of them is driven to about half HP).
  2. Speak to Iannus at Torigoth Relay Base in Gormott.
  3. Complete the Merc Mission 'False Rumor'.
  4. Report back to Iannus at Torigoth Relay Base.
  5. Dispatch a merc squad on the Merc Mission 'Ambush' - do NOT wait for it to finish.
  6. While 'Ambush' is still underway, travel to Valdorm's Mound in the Empire of Mor Ardain (the ambush step only triggers if the mission has been begun).
  7. At Valdorm's Mound, defeat the crystal hunters: Criminal Praxis (Lv 35, Water) and Thieving Waldemar.
  8. Report to Iannus at Torigoth Relay Base to finish; you receive Praxis's Core Crystal - use it to awaken Praxis (guaranteed).

Good to know

  • The quest has no marker or NPC giver, so it is easy to miss entirely: if nothing happens on Obra Street, check that you bought the 'Core Crystal Hunters' rumor from a Mor Ardain Informant, are carrying 10+ Core Crystals, and have Morag with you.
  • The 'Ambush' Merc Mission must be IN PROGRESS (dispatched, not completed) when you go to Valdorm's Mound - going before dispatching does nothing.
  • Praxis's story continues in two more quests that unlock her chart: 'Blade-Sharp Memory' (auto-starts at the Royal Guard Barracks in Fonsa Myma once Chapter 7 has started with her Affinity Chart at level 4; unlocks Fierce Deluge Lv 4) and 'Theory and Praxis' (Fonsa Myma Commercial District after Chapter 8, after the Heart-to-Heart 'Rough Diamond'; unlocks Geyser Spring Lv 5).
