Quest: “Corvin's Approach” — Starts at the Royal Audience Hall, Theoscaldia Palace, Kingdom of Tantal (quest giver: Marcel). All objectives are in Tantal (Memorial Ruins and Genbu Crown).

How to get Corvin: Expansion Pass DLC only: awakened from the Divine Core Crystal (a guaranteed, dedicated crystal — no random odds), given to the party by Sorinosori at the Argentum Trade Guild from Chapter 2 onwards, after installing version 1.5.2 and getting the "A Boy of Two Swords" Key Item from the Expansion Pass ("New Rare Blade Pack 3"). He is the third and final Rare Blade of the Expansion Pass.

How the quest unlocks
Awaken Corvin from the Divine Core Crystal (v1.5.2 + New Rare Blade Pack 3), complete Chapter 7, raise Corvin's Key Affinity to Lv 5 and his Light Mastery field skill to Lv 4, then talk to Marcel at the Royal Audience Hall in Theoscaldia Palace, Tantal, with Corvin in the party.

Walkthrough

  1. With Corvin awakened, Chapter 7 completed, his Key Affinity at Lv 5 and Light Mastery at Lv 4, talk to Marcel at the Royal Audience Hall in Theoscaldia Palace, Tantal — troop deployment to the Genbu Crown is blocked by a Garlus infestation.
  2. Head to the Memorial Ruins in Tantal.
  3. Clear out the 11 Aura Garlus standing guard at the entrance to the Genbu Crown.
  4. Head inside the Genbu Crown.
  5. Defeat the Aurora Garlus (Lv 68 quest-exclusive enemy) — two additional Aura Garlus aid it in the fight.
  6. Report back to Marcel at Theoscaldia Palace to finish the quest.

Good to know

  • Corvin's affinity chart is unusual: each next Key Affinity level is hidden until you earn the matching Light Mastery level, and Light Mastery levels come from talking to specific NPCs with specific Drivers (Nia in Uraya, Rex in Leftheria, Zeke in Tantal, Mòrag in Mor Ardain) — so the real work is before the quest, not during it.
  • The quest itself is short (one dungeon run) but the enemies are Lv 68 — well above the Chapter 8 story curve — so consider saving it for later or bringing a strong tank setup.
  • Unlike base-game Blade Quests, no Heart-to-Heart is involved; like the other DLC Blades, Corvin has none.
